Committing to Gentle Method over the last six months has been truly transformative for me.
For the first time, I was mostly training alone at home, without constantly relying on a mirror, as recommended in the course. At first, this felt uncomfortable and unsettling, but over time it helped me stop judging myself while moving and instead focus on truly feeling my body and the movement itself.
The process was challenging. I knew I needed to slow down, but I did not realize how much patience and repetition it would actually require. In the beginning, this created frustration, but I kept returning to the lessons until I started understanding the movements and how to adapt them naturally to my own body.
Gentle Method gave me a completely new understanding of flow and continuity in movement — where one movement melts into another without visible boundaries. Through the body wave module, I started understanding how movement can exist both as a statement on its own and as a subtle texture inside another movement. The spiral module helped me build rhythm through direction changes and turns, while the other modules expanded my understanding of momentum, grounding, shapes, and transitions.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been seeing the transformation in myself. Since reaching the later stages of the course, I’ve started receiving compliments about my flow constantly — after only six months of training. It made me incredibly proud of my commitment and helped build so much confidence in my dance.
There were also signature movements I always dreamed of being able to do, like the side body wave and pirouettes, and now I can finally perform them. That feeling of growth and accomplishment is something very special to me.
I also deeply loved the group chat feature. The support and encouragement inside the community made the entire experience feel even more motivating and inspiring.
Gentle Method does not simply teach choreography — it teaches the deep understanding behind movement and helps dancers expand their own flow language with awareness and intention.
I truly feel proud to have been part of the very first Gentle Method online cohort 🤍
